The idea
They raised. Now see what happens next.
Funding announcements are covered exhaustively and then dropped. Everyone reports the round; almost nobody reports what the round causes.
A company that has just raised is about to hire, build, buy, partner and expand. Those are the moments when a supplier, a contractor or a specialist is actually wanted, and they are invisible in the funding news itself.
AfterRaise reads the round and works out the consequence. The jobs, the projects, the partnerships, the expansion and the expertise that appear when a company grows.
The design problem
Two audiences, one dataset.
The same funding data serves two people with opposite jobs. Someone selling expertise wants to know which companies now need what they do. Someone inside a funded company wants to be found by the right suppliers without being buried in cold outreach.
The product answers both from one entry point, and says which one you are before it says anything else. Getting that fork right in the first screen was most of the design work.
The direction
An opportunity, not a lead list.
The lazy version of this product is a scraped list of funded companies with contact details attached. That already exists, several times over, and nobody enjoys being on either end of it.
AfterRaise is built the other way round: it starts from the opportunity a raise creates and names the company second. You apply on the company’s own site, not through us. The product’s job is to tell you the moment exists.
Why it is in the portfolio
A data product that has to stay current.
Most portfolio work is finished on launch day. This is not: it is a pipeline that has to keep reading a moving world and stay right about it, which is a different discipline from designing a website.
It is here because that discipline, and the judgement about what to publish and what to leave out, is the capability worth showing.
